Lucy

Lucy was enslaved in the household of Waterbury farmer Harmon Payne. On June 28, 1801, Lucy was baptized in the Congregational church along with the four Payne children, the children of Miles Newton, and Comfort, who was enslaved in the Newton household.

The Paynes had a total of nine children; Lucy undoubtedly was expected to help care for them.
